Meet the Admins

I am currently a sophomore at Raritan Valley Community College, studying Business Administration. I created the DAB during my freshman year of high school. I have been a Devils fan for my whole 19 years on this planet. My favorite player has always been Martin Brodeur, and I modeled my game after him during my playing days. Now, my favorite player is Adam Henrique. Hockey has always been my passion, and I enjoy watching, playing, and talking and writing about the sport.

My name is Chris Salavarrieta, but you know me as DBK. I am a Rutgers alumni with a degree in IT. I’m also A+ And Net+ certified. If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m the tech of DAB…..or at least I’m one of them. Hey…I’m the original tech, so that has to get me some points. Anyways, I also do news updates and the occasional game update. I began my tenure as an admin around 2012. I have been a hockey fan for as long as I can remember but became a die-hard Devils fan in 2000 during that awesome Cup run. I have two favorite games. The first is the final game in the 2012 ECF against the Rags. It was the first season I followed the Devils closely and thus was super invested in the series. The second (but it’s really my all time favorite) is the game on 3/23/14 against the Maple Leafs. It was my first date with my now fiancee AND we won on top of that. Best night ever. My favorite player is Martin Brodeur. His passion for the game and his on and off ice demeanor has always been awe inspiring and something I try to emulate in the sports I play. My current favorite player is the one and only Czech Machine, Jagr. His dedication to the sport and his overall good nature toward everything is indescribable.

I am known simply as Goodwin! I grew up in Monmouth County, NJ and became a Devils fan after my dad took me to a game on December 27, 1989! We saw New Jersey defeat Boston 3-1 and I was instantly hooked.
I am now a season ticket holder. I currently run the DAB Instagram at games and post on our Facebook page periodically. Make sure if you see me at a game you say hello and just mention the DAB!

Matt Italy

I, Matt Cook, from Bridgewater, New Jersey, currently attend TCNJ studying Computer Engineering. I have been a Devils fan since I went to my first game in 2010 and got into the great game of hockey. I have been a part of the Devils Army Blog since November¬†of 2013. Due to the fact that most of my family lives in the New York area, Devils vs Rangers games are more of a battle for bragging rights than they are for two points in the standings. My favorite player is Adam Henrique. Thanks to him and “Henrique! It’s Over!” I was able to wear my Eastern Conference Finals gear to a family gathering in Staten Island the very next day. Talk about bragging rights!

Joe Palma of West Milford, NJ has been a Devils fan since the early 90’s when he caught his first hockey moment of Scott Neidermayer scoring an end to end goal during the 1994-1995 Stanley Cup Finals. His favorite player will always be Scott Stevens, but Adam Henrique is making his way to the top. Joe joined the blog in 2013, providing game updates and helping with podcasts.

Kelsey O’Donnell of Bayonne, New Jersey has been an avid New Jersey Devils fan ever since her father took her to her first game in 1998. Growing up with an older brother who was a New York Rangers fan resulted in many living room wrestling matches. Her favorite player is Ken Daneyko. She joined Devils Army Blog during the 2013 season and is a former football and hockey writer for Aerys Sports and former New York Giants writer for SB Nation’s Big Blue View.

I’m Corey, otherwise known as CB. I was born in Nashua, NH but grew up in upstate New York about 30 minutes outside of Albany. I currently work/live in Clifton Park, NY with my wife to be, daughter and twin sons. I have been a big Devils fan for a little over 20 years now after attending a handful of Albany River Rats games in 1993 and then getting season tickets every year after to this day where they are now known as the Albany Devils. I had and continue to have the pleasure of watching many players develop in the Devils organization seeing some go on to win Calder and Stanley Cups as well as become popular names throughout the NHL and hockey in general. I joined DAB last season and provide news and updates surrounding the Albany Devils and New Jersey Devils prospects that develop in New York’s Capital District.

Hey, I’m Raj Vaidya, from West Windsor, NJ. Currently, I’m a sophomore studying computer science and mathematics at Rutgers University. I’ve been a huge New Jersey Devils fan ever since I was a toddler but my first game was in February 2007 (at Continental Airlines Arena). Aside from computers and math, I also love to write about the teams I like, which is why I joined DAB last year (previously, I wrote for Running with the Devils). In addition, I’m a lead content writer at FoxboroBlog (patriots football).

Hey fellow Devils fans! My full name is Michael Michalski. I’m 29 years old and from Pompton Plains, NJ. I’m a life long Devils fan and I’ve been a season ticket holder since the move to Newark. My love for the Devils started at a very young age. My parents shared season tickets back in the 90’s and I was lucky enough to be there for game four of the 95′ Stanley Cup a Finals and see Jersey’s team hoist the cup in person. Then in 2003 I saw the cup in person a second time after beating the Ducks 3-0 in game seven. Little did I know that would be the last time for quite some time.

A little more about my personal life, I work for the Okonite Cable company in Ramsey, NJ. We manufacture wire and cables and I work in management in our corporate office.

I’ve also been a volunteer firefighter since my eighteenth birthday and I really enjoy helping others. I went down to Seaside after Sandy for two days and it was certainly an experience that I’ll never forget.

I’m currently a part time student at Ramapo College of NJ and I’m working towards my BA in Business Mgmt. Before that I earned my associates degree in liberal arts from Passaic County Community College.

On weekends I’m also an on ice official for NJ youth hockey, and I have a great girlfriend that I’m planning on getting engaged to over the next few months. Overall life is great, it’s busy, hectic at times and always interesting.

Matt McCrohan is 22 years old from Brick, New Jersey. He is currently attending community college with the aspiration of earning a business degree. Matt has been a devils fan his entire life, and loves nothing more than talking anything and everything Devils hockey. Former favorite player is Scott Stevens and currently playing favorites are henrique and schneider. Best moment while attending a game would be game 6 against the florida panthers during the 2012 playoff run, in which zajac buried a goal to keep the teams playoff hopes alive.

Sam Woo

Sam WooMy name is Sam Woo and I have been a hardcore Devils fan since the 1980’s. I am the executive producer and co-founder of Hockey Unfiltered with Todd Lewis and Hockey Primetime with Conor McKenna, which can be heard on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio and stations across North America.

I have lived through almost all of the great and not so great moments of the New Jersey Devils franchise history. This is where my love for hockey began — with fellow Devils fans like myself. I’ve done some crazy things as a Devils fan over the years. However, I came on board to blog because I wanted to get back to my Jersey roots after covering the NHL since 2007.

I’ve had the privilege to work with many great NHL reporters, journalists, and broadcasters. I have been to NHL All-Star games, Winter Classics, Outdoor Games, NHL Drafts, and Stanley Cup finals. Through it all, nothing ever beats watching hockey in New Jersey with the best hockey fans in the world. Glad to be part of this group!

James Villani (JT)

Hey Devil Fans! I am James Villani, but most people call me JT. I am from Manahawkin, NJ and am currently studying at Temple University as a business major. I’ve been a Devils fan ever since my Uncle took me to my first Devils’ game back in 2010. My fondest Devils memory is when I was given the opportunity to attend game 4 of the Devils’ 2nd round series against the Flyers in 2012 NHL Playoffs. The atmosphere at The Rock is something I will always¬†remember. To say the least, I am so happy to be apart of the Devils Army Blog group!
